Abstract: | Two young children with hereditary elliptocytosis and severe haemolytic anaemia have been presented. Both had acute malaria infection when admitted to hospital. It is suggested that the acute malaria infection may have precipitated the severe haemolytic anaemia, though malaria could have contributed to the degree of anaemia observed in both children |
