With the standard dose of histamine acid phosphate 40 g/kg body weight, the peak and maximal acid outputs were calculated in 102 patients with uncomplicated duodenal ulcer disease, forty-seven controls and forty-seven patients with benign gastric outlet obstruction. The results obtained for maximal acid output showed significant differences between the control group and the other two groups separately. These figures are much lower than values from Western countries, but similar to those reported from studies in non-Caucasianen_US
