Abstract: | Sickle cell patients (SCP) and normals were exposed to 20°C and 40°C and certain renal functions studied. The results are interpreted to indicate that in the normal human kidney the cortical nephrons predominate in activity at 20°C while the juxtamedullary nephrons predominate at 40°C and that in the S CP the nephron population is functionally homogeneous. |
